The village features a ruined castle and offers a shop and a handful of pubs and restaurants. There is also a beach, which is ideal for swimming, along with sea fishing opportunities and boat trips for dolphin watching. A short drive takes you to the charming seaside town of Kilkee, which overlooks a mile-long horseshoe bay, with a safe and sandy Blue Flag beach, and is reputed to be the safest bathing place in Ireland.
