Wainwrights famous coast-to-coast walk starts just a few yards from the doorstep perfect for keen walkers. Within quarter of a mile are a variety of shops and eateries while in the opposite direction are the Cleveland Way and Fylingdales (both under 2.5 miles). The pretty cobbled streets harbour and beaches of Whitby are 5.5 miles away or venture slightly further to the coastal villages of Sandsend Staithes and Runswick Bay (all under 15.5 miles). Nature lovers will also appreciate a visit to nearby Ravenscar (11 miles) a perfect spot for seal watching around the headland. The entrance to this quaint period cottage can be found via a flight of stone steps which lead to a clifftop garden.
