Rutland holiday cottages

Rutland is England's smallest county, but it's big on things to see and do for all ages. Rutland water reservoir is the place to go for all kinds of water sports, including sailing, canoeing and windsurfing. The Watersports Centre at Whitwell is on the north shore and is open daily for activities and classes. Also based at Whitwell, the Rutland Belle is a passenger boat and a fantastic way to enjoy the water. St. Matthew's Church, Normanton is one of the most iconic sites on the water. Jutting out into the water, it's now a museum where visitors can learn about the history of the water and the surrounding area. Lyndon Nature Reserve and the Anglian Water Birdwatching Centre at Egleton are certain to delight bird lovers. Lyndon is where you'll see osprey if you're lucky, or try visiting Egleton in August for the British Birdwatching Fair. If fine food and wines is more to your liking, Hambleton is the destination for you. The Michelin starred restaurant at Hambleton Hall country house is perfect.
