Torfaen holiday cottages
Although it is the third smallest of the county boroughs, Torfaen is certainly not lacking in terms of interesting places to visit and its compact size makes it an ideal destination for short breaks. It is also only a 20 minute car journey from the city of Cardiff. The borough's main town, Pontypool, famous for its rugby connections, is also home to Pontypool Park where carefully landscaped gardens contrast with wilder open grasslands. Near to Pontypool, the former mining town of Blaenavon is now a World Heritage Site and the location of both the National Coal Museum and the Pontypool and Blaenavon Railway.
